Introducing our BE-AM 2022 keynote speakers: David Correa, James Clarke-Hicks and Isabel Ochoa (University Waterloo) will give a lecture on 3D-Printed Clay Structures.

Make sure to register for this year’s symposium via:

Combining traditional ceramics, smart geometry and robotic precision, the presentation covers a set of investigations that explore the role of 3D printing in the development of functional structures at multiple scales. The work engages full scale prototyping of differentiated masonry components, experimental façade systems and integrated light fixtures. Projects range from academic investigations and experimental prototypes to recently installed commercial applications. Each project celebrates the unique properties of clay through a dialogue between digitally controlled positioning and a highly expressive form finding process. Challenges, new insights and research outlooks are positioned in relation to each scale of work.
