“The potential of additive glass printing is clearly enormous. It enables the production of complex structures where the conventional way fails. Glass printing, with its multiple modes of representation, has excellent opportunities to overcome the limitations of conventional manufacturing,” says Dr. Schütze. She herself joined IL Metronic Sensortechnik GmbH in October 2018. After starting in the glass feedthrough department, she moved to R&D in 2019, where she is now head of tasks such as project management and applications. The focus of the projects always revolves around the possible uses of glass. The intensive cooperation between the individual departments within IL Metronic Sensortechnik GmbH is always an important aspect. Not least also with regard to the solution of occurring problems during development work. This interdisciplinary exchange also provides the development department with “regular new input and new perspectives”.
